The name “Earwig” came from….Yet another old wives tale; back in the day the story was that these pests crawled into the ears of the sleeping to eat into or nest inside your brain eventually killing you. Quite dramatic don’t you think? Even though small insects can crawl into your ears, the little ole’ Earwig can’t and won’t burrow into your brain or kill you. This is Nonsense, Hogwash and total poppycock I say. Earwigs are harmless to people.
