Sugar Ants
Camponotus consobrinus
Several species of ants here in South Florida are referred to as “Sugar-Ants” just because they like sweets. According to Entomologists; the true Sugar Ant; is actually a small black ant native to Australia.
As the owner of PesTenders, I deal with many types of ants and so-called “sugar ants” every day. But customers and pest control operators often confuse the characteristics of many ant-species with the term: Sugar-ant. Honestly we all can agree that the name “sugar ants” is used when referring to many ant species which can include: (little black ants, ghost ants, and odorous house ants or even the pavement and pharaoh ants) all are a common household pest that is attracted to sugary sweets. Not to worry “We can Identify and eliminate them.”
If you do find signs of any species of ants in your home or business,
We will promptly inspect to identify the type of species and recommend a course of treatment.
